Unreal. I saw the 405 was hit too. Is the Getty still standing? My old stomping grounds (more like Westwood, Brentwood, Century City and Beverly Hills. But still Jibby's pic so familiar).

A lot of people will end up getting screwed by insurance. Just the nature of the business. My dad said anytime you have a decent sized home insurance claim, have a public claims adjuster take a look at home as well. The fee you end up paying if you decide to hire them will be worth it to take a lot of the bullshit off your hands.

We'll I received an amber alert on my cell phone late last night to be ready to evacuate if necessary. Winds picked up last night and there were city concerns the fires might make the flat land in the major cities.. Santa Monica where I live didn't get hit at all.. Still was starting think maybe I should be ready...

Fires still raging in the mountain areas and the winds are suppose to pick up later today and blow in the direction of the coastal areas... Fires aren't contained yet.

used to work for a law firm when i lived in newport beach that repeatedly sued so cal edison for its huge power lines arcing during santa anna wind conditions, causing sparks which ignited in various fires over the years.....

argued it constituted an inverse condemnation under imminent domain law....

so cal edison paid millions to reimburse ins. cos. for the losses they had to pay out due to the so cal edison lines starting the fires.....

haven't heard much on the causes of these latest fires....

any of you so cal residents heard what started the thomas fire and others?

.. I think I'm untouchable here.. I'm inland... It's the houses by the mountain sides and near alot of wild brush that are getting lit up.. Embers do fly in the wind and can catch houses on fire though...

I think one more day we are gonna be good according to weather reports.. It's all about the warm winds dying down..

Fires ok tonight so far in the LA area.. Santa Barbara and San Diego getting pounded now with fires.. Southern California is burning..
