They're just enforcing rules already in place that they have been able to overlook until Lavar came around. The rule has always been there for the privacy of family and guests. They have also always been able to be relaxed about enforcing it because what little media did go over there respected that there was a privacy concern.

Now the dog and pony show that is Lavar has brought so many members of the media to that area that they have to enforce the rule.

It's got nothing to do with what Lavar says, he can just walk around the corner and do an interview. They aren't stopping that. It's the Lavar rule because they don't want the mad house in that section, they never have.
