So sick of this talk every year, why cant we just all wait then complain, then deal with it. I dont care much for the teams left anyway just hope Georgia gets exposed again.

Needs to expand to 6 team playoff. 5 conf champions plus one at large. Top 2 seeds get a bye. No brainer.

Bama has got the exact resume Ohio st had two years and Ohio state didn't get in. Maybe slightly worse because at least Michigan st went on to win the big ten title. I feel like for bama to have a chance auburn would have had to won yesterday.

Can see them putting OSU in, its explainable because they just beat the #4 team. Committee set it up this way pretty much assuming OSU would beat Wisky.

What value do you place on the conference playoff? Money making game - no doubt - which is what the bowl games are all about. Let's say you disagree with whoever won the conference playoff - try putting in Alabama in over Georgia and see if the sun still comes up tomorrow? To say that the third best team in the SEC should get in over the playoff winner is pretty subjective - and what would Auburn say about that. 4 conference winners and 4 playoff teams - the only one that has a legitimate complaint is the PAC 12 winner. The system is not perfect but why have conference playoffs if they do not mean anything - just pick 4 and forget it?

The College Football Playoff is far from a perfect. No need to make it worse by selecting two teams from the same conference. I could be okay with that happening in a year where it was more definitive. This year, it is very debatable, so go with Conference Champ in another conference. This reminds me of the year, nobody knew who to really put in as the 2nd team in The BCS, so they went with Bama over Ok State and gifted Bama a national championship as they had the heavy emotional advantage over an LSU team that beat them earlier in the year Just a bad matchup for LSU, and somewhat unfair. LSU was one of those one-dimensional SEC teams that were near unanimous during that time period, but they were a great version of it that year. This year, if they let Bama in, Saban will be ecstatic being the “underdog” fourth seed and getting a revenge shot at Clemson ( albeit, not the same unfair rematch scenario as the LSU game). Can’t gift him another National Championship ( of course he’s deserved plenty too). The hardest thing to do in college football is playing multiple tough opponents in a row ( top 25 will suffice); just two is tough, three is a veritable gauntlet that few survive. Because of only having 8 conference games, Bama gets to have a bye prior to the LSU game every year and a Mercer type team before Auburn. Their other toughest game is usually the first of the season, followed by a weak non conference team. Great point here made by Pac 12 Commish “When you substitute an FCS opponent and only play eight [conference games], it’s really a different universe of competitive challenges.” A different universe...They’ve been called to task to change this and they chose not to. This is their prerogative, thus today should have been a day of reckoning for SEC. It is an Injustice!!

Why schedule a hard team at all if you Bama? You are going to pass the eye test crushing trash opponents ( ya, top recruits look their best against weak opponents). AND you can still lose a game...to your best opponent (A three loss team!)

Nobody in the SEC should schedule anyone tough in the pre-conference. SEC is the best league. If you either win the SEC, or finish with 1 loss, you'll make the playoff nearly every year.
The ACC/Big12/Big10 aren't even close to the SEC
