Kelly hates to play 2nd fiddle and that is exactly what he would be at UCLA. 2nd fiddle in Los Angeles, much less the Pac 12. He also does not like the college recruiting process in general. It would not surprise me to see Kelly go to Oregon State if Gary Anderson gets the ax after what should be a 1-11 season there (the only win a 35-32 win against FCS Portland State) and a 7-29 record after three seasons.

UCLA has got it done recruiting-wise and i think LA buzz-wise. just haven't come close to getting it done on the field.

don't laugh but what about mike riley? did a great job at oregon state? can't remember exactly how he did at USC. anyway, it looks like he was only OC anyway. don't think USC had good teams back then.

i find this shocking but i read the niners may still owe him $60MM on his buyout. i can't imagine it was ever that large. and whatever it was i assume would have run down quite a bit.... what an incompetent organization

Belotti got it all started, but Kelley perfected it and made them elite.

Kind of like at Boise where Dirk Koetter is the guy who really went into a nothing school and made them relevant, but Chris Petersen came in and made them great.
