    BREAKING: Yankees fire Joe Girardi
Wow. I guess they don't realize the team always overachieved with him guiding the ship.

Yankees and Red Sox markets are unfair and high-stress
high-criticism, very demanding and RUDE media.

Girardi will go to another team and be able to breathe.

Is Clemens a legit manager? I know Molitor went into the bigs with little to zero minor league success but Clemens?

Yanks always hire former Yanks...but look for them to take a stab at Doug Menckewitcz formerly of the Twins system.

Modern baseball in NY LA or BOS is simple. Get in, get your ring, get out. There is no long term option and winning 85-90 every year, while great in Cleveland or Texas just isn't going to cut it in those 3 markets, each of whom have fired winning managers w rings...

rather surprising considering the job he did this year

they were not expected to make the postseason

They didn't fire him. His contract was up. Surprising. Apparently he didn't get along great with the players. It will be interesting to see who they hire.

Yeah I don't understand this one. All September and October we all heard how the Yankees were "ahead of schedule" in their rebuilding and they overachieved this year. This does not seem like a manage who deserved to be fired.

Yankees were not going to bring him back for just one year and then keep hearing about if he will be extended next year.

And the next manager will look like a genius because they will have like $80 million to spend on free agents this year.

Girardi works much better with young players than with veteran prima donnas. Going back to the Marlins would be a good fit. They did beat Jeter/Yankees in the series that one year.
