Don't know why they should when you think about it (they often do suck). They get to pick players from every team in the league and many of those teams have more decent players than what the teams can protect.

it got me looking at the Ottawa Senators pre-game ceremony from back in 1992 and it is ~5 minutes or so of my life that I will never get back. It was so awful! And that is an understatement.
