wont try as hard until final year of contract. waste. poor ghetto boy gets that much money he is going to party hard, gonna have friends family looking for hand out....too much distraction.
he is a good player though and the contract is worth it if he actually gives his 100% every year and stays focused.

Their doctors must be damn sure his knee and his foot is totally healed. Someone was going to offer him big $$$ in the offseason, if only for the fact that people will buy tickets to see him play. Even if he only played half the games, played only at home, people would still come to see him play. Guess the Sixers felt pressured to get it done now before he gets a chance to light it up this year. Heard there is some protections in the contract in case he gets injured so the team can get a buyout without burying the cap for the next 5 years.

If by "ghetto boy" you mean a poor kid from Cameroon Africa, then yeah that might be right. He's a clown for sure but if he stays healthy and plays like he did last year, it will be a bargain for Philly. I still say he plays no more than 50 games this year.

Wow 150 million after playing like half a season and on a minutes restriction.
Insane
But that is the state of the NBA. You need a transcendent talent to win so someone would offer him a big deal.

Yup the Africans in the NBA have some of the best work ethic of anyone in the league heheh. He's not from an American hood contrary to what the other guy said.

One of the best players in the world right now.
Money is a little extreme, but that's what the going rate is now for players of this caliber.
Time to prove himself now, and I feel that he will. Easily an All star this year.

The kid can play. Make no mistake about it.
I like his personality, too. He's funny.
Seems like a lot of money to give a guy that's only played about 30 games though.

Enjoy it while you can and try not go bankrupt Joel. The days of these ridiculous contracts paid for by hidden cable fees will soon be over
