#3Eh, someone will always stake him. Eventually he will be broke when he's old, and no one gives him money. He was broke years back too then won some tournaments and was supposed to be back. Gonna be tougher now. I doubt he's really broke though. May not be rich.Comment -

#6Maybe poker winnings they know about, and some assets. Not the money he pissed away elsewhere.Originally posted by stevek173
I think he has an apparel company, or something though. That can at least give him a bit of cash, or get garnished by whoever he owes.

He seems fine on twitter. When people say poker players are broke, they never are. Just not as rich as one would expect.Comment -

#18They are broke because they are degenerates and can’t walk by a craps or baccarat table without dumping their poker winnings on it. Poker skill and money management are two entirely different things.Comment -

#19Damn casino places all that right near the exit. I guess I could go the long way out. One of the last times I played, I turned $100 into $970 sitting there for hours. Wanted to get to an even 1K cause I'm dumb. So, play some BJ and 3 minutes later I have nothing. Fck, that one still hurts.Originally posted by daneblazerThey are broke because they are degenerates and can’t walk by a craps or baccarat table without dumping their poker winnings on it. #22The Grinder never bought himself into tournaments anyways. Either sponsored player or he'd sell his entries at 40% markup. Then he'd only keep 30% of himself so whether he cashes in the tournament or not he profits.Comment -

#24Would love to see a JJ/Stevie charity Wrestling match. Would pay $20 to see it.
Don't like the facts presented in this thread. $175 tournament doesn't mean he's broke. At WSOP, I played in some $235 tournaments. Based on schedule, some of the hi-end guys would enter this tournament. Played right next to Kassouff.
That said, if there was more substantive evidence, I would believe that Grinder was broke. Look at some of his play. He would often just bet to the hilt, looking for a Fold when he had air + thought his opponent might not be nutted.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

#28Lol yes she's legendary. Reminds me of the first time I saw the grinder playing a cash game at commerce way back in the day. She was sitting behind him sweating the action and I thought to myself his girls face is kinda beat I wonder why he's with her. She got up to grab him a drink a while later and I realized his angle. Salud grinder well playedOriginally posted by ChuckyTheGoatPoint me in the right direction. She has big-cans.

#29Turns out a quick google search shows "Mizrachi also had two residential properties in Florida foreclosed on including a condominium he owned with his brother, Robert. In 2016, Aidiliy Mizrachi, his wife, divorced Michael for irreconcilable differences."
Looks like his jewish american princess of a wife took him for all he was worth. Poor guy. His brother Robert was always the better player anyways.Comment -

#31$16,000,000 in tournament cashes. Likely at least 50% did not go into his pocket. That's $8,000,000 left. I'd be surprised if he didn't buy in to at least $3,000,000 of MTT's himself. Add in taxes and travel/hotel and some properties and luxuries over the last 13 or so years he was on the grind and it's pretty easy to see how he went broke.Originally posted by rockmvp1209did i mean flat broke no. but for a guy who almost has 20 milli in tournament earnings....to be playing 175 dollar tournies and 2/5 no limit on the reg is crazy ....i remember he was on high stakes poker with his bob marley Jamaican hat on with a million infront of him... weeeeeeeeee. and his wife is a poker dealer? damn...yes correct his ugly brother rob is a beast thoComment -

#34I don't know how US poker pros can survive paying 30% tax on winnings and not being able to offset gambling losses against it.
Plus the tipping on cash tables seems to make the math of that not work to me too.
No tax on gambling and no tipping allowed for dealers are rules I like..Comment -
