I had a customer, degenerate, who used to borrow $10k at start of every season and just pay the vig until he either hit a,streak or got his tax refund back lol....did this for years.

In November of last year he got a settlement for $85,000 stemming from a car accident. He had no other bills I'm aware of and was still working.

He came into the shop Saturday. He lost EVERYTHING on Ohio State 2 weeks ago lol.

I used to use them all the time. Just sucks when you are borrowing from one guy to pay back the other. I got in a few jams with some but never got any limbs broken luckily. As long as you make an effort to pay them back they are usually all right.
