There are reports Mexico City has been thrown into chaos with desperate residents fleeing their homes.
People on the coast of Oaxaca and Chiapas have now been told to prepare for an evacuation ahead of a possible tsunami.
The quake's epicentre was 123 km (76 miles) southwest of the town of Pijijiapan and at a depth of 33 km (21 miles).
A tsunami warning has now reportedly been issued.
Huge tsuami waves are expected to smash Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama, Honduras and Ecuador.

I hope that guy that lives just north of Mexico City (the one that was stranded after the football betting conference because SBR hadn't refunded airfare yet) is ok.

We've got total eclipses across the USA, earthquakes in Mexico City, and a record hurricane with another one right behind it. I'm not saying I wouldn't be surprised, but right about now is the least I would ever be surprised to look up and see the sky full of alien spaceships

The worst part about this is that it is happening in the middle of the night.

i think the earthquake was off the coast like 1000 miles south from where he's at. Plus it's like 2000m above sea level there so I doubt the tsunami will make it.

Apparently, there was a smaller 5.2 earthquake off the coast of Mexico earlier today also. We may see more quakes in the next day or so and probably aftershocks.

I use to live on the water in LA and earthquakes, tsunamis scared the living shit out of me. You never know when they are going to appear, you really don't know what to do and you never know if another one much more powerful is right behind it. The power to move so much dirt is unfathomable.

Those structures in Mexico are made out of duct tape and bubble gum, surprised more didn't die or get injured.
Build the wall before they all start pouring in like frigg'n roaches I say.. One huge disaster in Mexico and they all start running to the American borders.. Mexico is shiiit hole that's why so many Mexicans want to come to America..
