And out of the 400 million she'll get taxed for half so 200 million. You figure half of that will go to her two kids and any relatives, walk away with about 100 million. You could blow a million a year and still not go broke.

I always thought that the best thing that you could do if you hit that much money(before you went public) would be get a list of all of your closest family and friends and tell them that they have to meet you at a certain location in one hour, but not tell them why. Just say that it is very important. Then whomever shows up I would announce that you won the lottery and are going to say that you all played the numbers together and split everything with them equally. Anyone that doesn't show up is out of luck.

I don't get it. At least setup several trusts, especially a revocable trust, so that you can remain anonymous and possible tax breaks from estate taxes. You can then allocate beneficiaries and reduce their possible tax liability as well. Why not at least consult with a tax lawyer and a financial accountant? Why not at least open up an account via the trust to accept the check? Anytime I hear stories like this I already know that it won't end well.

seriously, this woman is bonkers. the gum chewing at her press conference was the first clue. and everything she has done since perpetuated her need for mental evaluation which she can now afford. she's nuttier than those hillbillies from tennessee who won a couple of years ago. just the way she quit her job of nearly 30 years and her declaration that before she won she wanted to get a new job and drink rum all day. never mind the fact that she didn't seek advice and has become the most public lottery winner (and the richest) in history. just the look on her face at the press conference speaks volumes.
