It's college. Drinking, bad decisions, regret are always in play. He said, she said, the hardest cases to prosecute. FSU handled it very poorly with regards to procedure and the cops with some of their statements to the alleged victim and they paid out almost a million dollars in a settlement.
Title IX is a different animal. Lately, you don't have to be convicted or even accused by the alleged victim and you can be expelled and labeled a rapist (see the USC kicker). Jameis doesn't come across as a sociopath or a rapist. He came across as a dumb college kid. Most people aren't evil or saints. The truth is always somewhere in the middle.
Like with most things going on in the country right now, we are getting too out of whack. Schools would rather ruin a guy's life and error on the side of caution. FSU didn't do anything wrong. The TPD managed to fukk things up good tho. Because they did a shitty job doesn't mean there was a cover up. People forget when this all went down jameis was a redshirt freshman nobody. The news continently broke late during his heisman and title run.
Fun story, I worked at FSU when this all went down. Girl I worked with went to high school with the "victim". Said the girl tried to steal her boyfriend and fukk him. Victim was a member of a group called the cleat chasers. The goal was to go bang athletes.
