LOS ANGELES (AP) The Pac-12 will shorten halftime and reduce the number of commercial breaks during its non-conference schedule this season as part of a trial program to reduce the length of its football games.

Halftime will be 15 minutes long, cut down from the usual 20-minute break. The number of commercial breaks will be reduced and they will be shorter in length, Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott said Wednesday.

I can dig it. Hope it will spread to the other conferences.

20 minutes flies by when you're at a game. TV wise, as I won't be there then it works for me. If Syracuse did this, half the fans would still be in the pisser or concession lines when the 2H started. Takes 5 minutes to get to the damn concourse.

Just means less time to refresh your body and more chances to get concussions.

              Poor kids.

To make matters worse, I'm going to really have to speed up my halftime wagering. God forbid the NCAA think about me once in a while.

I think half times are always fast and football regardless of the amount of time allotted

Halftime is 420 time. Can't say I will have a problem fitting in a Toke.

5 minutes is not a big deal. For those of you who think that the NCAA really gives a rats ass about your wagering habits, think again. If you know what you are doing (and I realize that is asking a lot from the alleged bettors in here) you should have your 2nd half wagers figured out before the end of the first half. These College games drag on and on. Time to shorten them up.

NFL's halftime is shorter IIRC, because there's no marching band or anything like that. I don't feel bad for the kids.

If you have a lot of games on, it's not so bad since you're just flipping anyway. When it's a Thursday nighter or a late game and there's nothing else on, it's a brutal wait sometimes. And for what?

The Orange are usually down 17 with 2 min to go in the 2nd quarter. Just leave early.
