Rybarikova v. Muguruza - Pick and Write-Up

I like Rybarikova at +4. Muguruza has been playing well, but Kerber wasn't in top form and Kuzetnesova at age 32 is not an elite player anymore. Rybarikova beat the tournament favorite, Pliskova, and also dominated vandeweghe. Rybarikova is a defensive player who is 18-1 her last 19 grass matches, and if she gets an aggresive player Muguruza into longer points I think she will struggle to be consistent.

The rankings of the players in those 10 matches were 113, 187, 75, 62, 111, 366, 54, 98, 78 and 130. Not good enough for me to beat Muguruza ranked at 6, and showing her real power when she beat Kerber.

She beat Pliskova who was the favorite to win the tournament - if that is her ceiling she should certainly have a shot to beat Muguruza - Kerber hasn't played well for a while.

I wouldn't call Murgruza clutch - she's been to the final round twice in 16 majors and won 1 major in 5 years.

H2H it is 2-2 and Rybarikova smoked her in 2015 at Wimbledon 6-1 6-3.

+4 seems to obvious of play. Not sure why Mugs is a -250 favorite

Plaza I think if you look at players who aren't ranked very high that go on big runs they tend to be undervalued -look at Ostapenko at the French Open - Murguruza is the big name

Mugs was -455 vs Rybar when she lost to her in 2015 too. If it's happened before, it can happen again. And Rybar is 35-5 this year. She's playing the best she's ever played in her career.

Earlier round mugs might of been upset but I think kerber was perfect match for mugs to set her up for kuz and Magdalena, magdalena serve not good enough for the big matches

Don't think Muguruza will choke at this stage at all...if this is a first round match, it could happen...

But that's a grand slam semi-final for Muguruza, I can't see how Rybarikova can still pull another huge upset

You can only back Muguruza here if you think she is a level above Coco and Karolina in terms of character. Can she grind it out?

If uncertain, just bet the dog or stay away. Rybarikova is having the tournament of her life and is injury free on her favorite, most successful surface.

This. If you saw Muguruza in her last match where she beat a solid Kuznetsova player 2-0, you knew she'd handle business today. Wish I'd seen this thread earlier to pipe in and maybe save some Ryb backers some cash
