Your former employer pays your unemployment insurance. That is why they will try to deny unemployment if they possibly can.

#107In 47 of the 50 states, this is true. However, there are a few states who impose an unemployment tax on their employees.Originally posted by Buffalo NickleYour former employer pays your unemployment insurance. That is why they will try to deny unemployment if they possibly can.
Yes, employers pay 100 percent of the unemployment insurance to the federal government. However, states do collect unemployment insurance from both employees and employers. If and when they collect from employees, depends on the state & the state's unemployment insurance reserves.
Why do people know this? Because it is on their checks.
Unlike Tripe, I don't begrudge anyone filing for unemployment. I think it's perfectly fine & what it's there for. Nobody should be ashamed to do it. I really don't get the stigma of being ashamed to file for unemployment, as if it's welfare.Comment -

#108I'm well aware of how UI works, having paid more into it both an employee and an employer than you're likely to have. By itself, UI isn't welfare, and I generally support people getting it whenever they can, as most non-leechers who pay into it will never be able to get as much as they paid into this bullshit mandatory "insurance". In your case though, adding your UI claims in with other available evidence, it seems likely you're one who sees it as just another tool to leech off of peoples' hard work, telling yourself you're smart for doing something that anyone can do but most are too ethical to do.Originally posted by bobbywavesHint: Peeps pay into unemployment insurance via their paychecks (refer to UI). So funds are available in case of a lay off, or an unfair firing. Do all peeps collecting UI payments also obtain food stamps (EBT)?
But thanks for demonstrating your ignorance yet again.
As for it being considered welfare, that's not an unreasonable categorization of it...it's mandatory redistribution of wealth, like other aspects of welfare. The main difference is that people don't have to be poor or scammers to claim UI and get some of their stolen money back. In your case, we know you're both.Comment -

I'd argue they contribute more. The time they put in for the potential (even top prize) is nothing.
Meanwhile JJ just posts shit posts all day that are completely worthless and provide no valueComment -
