All these assets and all these star players keep getting moved around for pretty bad deals the celtics easily could have beat.

Cousins in season and now Butler and George.

At this point they should just trade isaiah thomas and al horford and build for 3-5 years from now. They clearly have 0 interest in winning championships anytime soon.

The Celtics believe in the theory that until James leaves the east anything they do is stupid and worthless. They will be fine.

combination of being a racist city and miserable cold winter weather deters these guys from signing here. no way hayward wants to come here unless they get george, which they didn't. they've only won 17 championships so why do they care about winning another one this decade. fans care more about that nonsense (winning) than the players who are only interested in their contracts and playing in warm weather cities. believe it. they have a nice core of good players that fans like and are entertaining for the 82 game schedule. attendance and concession sales are solid which pleases the owners. they do need to unload some of these younger fringe players who are good but they don't need them all. they wasted this years pick on this tatum guy who won't play more than 8 or 9 minutes a game. but they have a load of good picks in the next couple of years and with james leaving for the lakers they should dominate the east at least.

They ain`t dominating the East w/out getting 2 vet stars....which as it stands today, looks impossible.
Haywood would be a nice piece, but is it better than 50% he goes to Boston?
Just yesterday, PG had best odds to go to Boston.

Said it before. NBA is freakin` hard to get to the top echelon. NFL much easier. NEVER see a 3 peat SB match-up.

truer words were never spoken. it is just a circus of players who play a game which is ridiculously easy for them at their size to play. now nearly all of them have mastered the art of shooting 3's. when that first started teams designated one guy to shoot them once in a while. that changed. they found out that it's so easy to shoot them so now that's all they do. fans ooh and aah when they make them and the players are laughing to themselves that we can make these all night if we choose to. as far as winning championships go they realize that very few players have any chance to do it so why worry about it. instead get that contract and hopefully another.

The Celtics and German forward Daniel Theis are in agreement on a two-year contract, league sources tell Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. International basketball journalist David Pick first reported last month (via Twitter) that Theis would be joining the C’s on a deal that runs through 2018/2019.

Theis, 25, went undrafted in 2013 and his rights aren’t held by an NBA team, so he’ll join the Celtics as a free agent after his contract with Germany’s Brose Bamberg expired. In 41 German League games last season, Theis averaged 9.5 PPG and 5.7 RPG. He also appeared in 30 EuroLeague contests, recording 9.6 PPG and 4.6 RPG.

While exact details on Theis’ new deal haven’t been reported, the first year will be fully guaranteed, per Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe (via Twitter).

If it’s a minimum salary pact, which seems likely, it could be finalized before the moratorium ends, and it won’t affect the Celtics’ cap room, since Theis’ rookie minimum would have the same cap hit as the charge for an empty roster spot.

All of the 'Big 4' sports could lose about 10 teams and chop their schedules in half (except NFL) and then maybe it would watchable

The Celtics will likely part ways with Tyler Zeller on Sunday, per a report from Mark Murphy of The Boston Herald (Twitter link).

The center’s $8MM salary for 2017/18 is set to become fully guaranteed tomorrow, so waiving him will certainly provide the team with greater cap flexibility as it looks to make a splash in free agency this summer. Boston won’t be on the hook for any of that amount if it does indeed make him an unrestricted free agent as Murphy’s sources suggest.

The 27-year-old appeared in 51 games last season, including five starts, and averaged 3.5 points, 2.4 rebounds and 0.8 assists in 10.3 minutes per outing. His shooting line for the campaign was .494/.000/.564.

Manny maybe Danny boy sees something I don't, but when I last checked that Kraut looked like he needed another year in the Fritz league.

yup, he can do everything Grant Hill could except play defense. He may be the best player in the draft.
