I retired at 49. Six years ago. Having to get by with a little less money, but haven't regretted it. I admire people that say they enjoy their job and don't want to quit. I never enjoyed working and couldn't wait to quit the rat race. Fortunately, I made some good (lucky) investments in my 20's and was able to quit at 49.

complex equation...age, accumulated wealth, desired accumulated wealth, years remaining able to physically work, valuable skills and rate of increase/decrease in value, etc...it goes on and on...everyone has to formulate their own equation to figure this out...most variables are so variable(go figure) that its more difficult to pinpoint an exact age the further away from it you are...good luck
