I believe hospitals turn over all debts owed to collection agencies.. I know many people in the hoods that have racked up high med bills aren't bothered by it and or care less about their credit..

People in the hoods and illegals take advantage of this.. They got 911 on their contact list.. Hey before obama care if you were sick you had to take a substandard policy. That is if you were self employed. I was running around in manhatten. The next month I had a stroke. I was in the hospital for 27 days. That bill was a little more than yours and I got stuck paying half of it. So i hear you. But i have also seen drs. that had to pay 36,000 for a malpractice policy.
