The Lakers trade D'Angelo Russell for Brook Lopez.
Wow.
Shocking move.
Is Magic brilliant or crazy?

Oh, they are getting rid of Mozgov and getting back a first rounder, too. Now this trade makes a little more sense.

Brook is the better of the Lopez brothers.. Gave up Masgov and Russel and a late 1st round pick.. Good trade for the Lakers.. If they can land Paul George now they got 2 decent starters and are on the right track..
Good trade for the Lakers, they will have plenty of money to pay Paul George next season after getting rid of the horrible contract of Mozgov. Moving Russell opens up the PG for Ball.

Lakers still have Jordan Clarkson and other young point guards on the roster.. Losing Russel no biggy as the Lakers can always find a young point guard to bring the ball up the court and hit the open 3..

He'll be 34 years old, entering his 16th season. The guy has to slow down at some point.

probably if he comes to LA
I doubt he wants to the shadow of kobe Bryant looming over him.
If I'm king james though I stay in the EAST though
He'll make the finals damn near every year wont be so if he comes to the clippers or lakers have to go through a way tougher side.

He'll lose every year also in those finals staying in the East and he will have to live almost year round in that crappy city called Cleveland, Ohio.. The brother wants to live in Sunny LA where showtime happens.. I'd rather live in So Cal then Cleveland Ohio myself.. No brainer..
I know a few hot chicks that moved down to LA from Cleveland Ohio and never looked back.. Just saying..

Why do they do this to themselves? It's like teams play roles in the league. LA will pay far too much for aging players.
They like to cash in the big names just before they fizzle out, or even into injury, and pay plenty for it. Clearly, they're not making moves to get a title or anything immediate like that.

Brook is a 7 foot big that can't rebound and plays garbage d but can drop 20 in a half.
Russell is a 2nd pick bust that is mediocre at best in the nba

Some of you guys hit it on the head. The major benefit of deal for LA is getting rid of the brutal Mozgov contract. Russell is just the cost for BK to eat said contract. Lopez is in final year of deal as well. Now they have cleared out a ton of cap space, handing keys to offense to Ball and picked up an extra pick.
If i were a laker fan I would be very pleased with the deal.

if he wants he can fly out here on a private jet at will to see his family daily if that's really the issue. I kind of chuckled because My family is from Michigan so I lived there for a while before I spent the last 30 years in LA county. you don't have the explain the weather differences to me. believe me I get it. Yeah man Hot chicks from every Podunk town and the south east move out here... They think they'll be stars or they think its the place to be. Almost nobody is really from here 30 years since coming here when I was 5 basically makes me a native.
Still don't think hes coming to the lakers to be in kobes shadow though...believe that when I see it but yeah hes welcome. Lakers tickets will be even more expensive than they are now.
By the way its silly saying they'll lose every year in the EAST all they need to do is add a few pieces and get rid of some dead weight like love and korver. And you can ask any of those basketball players being in the finals is special. and you have a shot year after year to be in the finals you take it. It would be retareded of king james to go to the western conference and have to battle that group when you can beat sorry ass east coast teams pretty much at will.

Yeah but Kyrie, lebron, George does ...they need to improve their bench get rid of love and korver those mofos are dead weight in the playoffs. derron Williams is a shell of himself Richard Jefferson is cool but hes got to be about 40 has to be I remember when he was a star that was a long time ago.
They're not that far away. Biggest problem is when LeBron needs to take a seat and kyrie is off against golden st they're basically dead they need that 3rd option. kevin love obviously isn't that guy.

oh and You guys do know LeBron isn't beating the spurs or the warriors with That Laker squad have a better chance with the clippers but that squad not beating the spurs or warriors either.
Better stay his ass in the Eastern conference to even sniff the finals.
