Chauncey was supposedly lobbying for the job during the playoffs. Griffin is the GM of a team that goes to the Finals 3 years in a row and doesn't get a contract extension. Very fishy. Lebron's posse must not have liked Griffin.

but Griffin was due for a raise making less than 2 million a year (or so it was written) and Cleveland wouldn't give Atlanta, Milwaukee, or Orlando permission to discuss a GM job.

Those jobs are filled and now.

It wasn't Lebron, and both Gilbert and Griffin say the decision not to extend was mutual...for whatever that's worth.

I read a report that claims since Dan Gilbert's ownership... he's never given out a contract extension before to any GM he employed. That's unreal. Dan Gilbert must be a hard guy to impress if this is true?
