it's like would you rather have 5 shares at $100 or 100 shares at $5. The $100 has a better chance to keep rising, but if they $5 one skyrockets to $25-30 then you have 100 shares of it.

Basically I just want to spread the portfolio around for longer term. I'm not advanced enough to do it short term like trading multiple times a day and putting thousands of dollars into it. I put $500 into it and will put another $1500 in next couple months and try to manage the $2,000 and see what I can do

that's how Coinbase usually does it and supposed to do it, Sam. They lock in the price at time of purchase.

I have heard of them cancelling orders before tho. It's been a long while since hearing that happen, maybe over a year ago.

They do lock in the price, but they canceled 5 orders on me when I first signed up and made my first purchase with them. Got btc at 5500-6000 and it jumped to 7700 the day before it cleared all buys were canceled and refunded, over a month later still waiting on support to give a decent reply

doesn't even have a pending date for it to clear. They took out the money next day, just want it to clear to keep some in litecoin and move some to binance to trade on some other ones

Easiest way to see is that your buy locked in X amount of ltc. Not a dollar amount of ltc but however many you purchased at the time. When it clears you'll have that amount of ltc. Expect a week after money is pulled and don't be surprised for almost two, but if all goes through you 100% got price it was day you made the buy

pending transaction on coinbase since 12/6. I know you guys have said I get the litecoin at the price I inititally bought it at 12/6 and I sure hope so. Up over $180 now and I would be pissed if the 5 day pending transaction costs me

like stated you'll get what's on your transaction receipt, I bought 4 Ethereum on coinbase the day after you bought litecoin for around $429 a piece and it says they'll be "available" to me on Thurs. 12/14

i don't see any receipt showing what amount I bought it for. I know from my knowledge of purchasing it what I got, but I don't have any receipt or in my email it doesn't say what I bought it for??

go to recent activity, look at where it should say "bought LTC". click on that transaction and it shows the price you bought it at.

if you guys are trying to deposit to gdax and don't want to wait the 4 days, the wire option (although charges a $10) fee, gets you the funds in 1 day. a little more complex, having to go into your online banking and input all the info there.

ok finally found it haha. Looks like I bought for 104.21 but bought to equal even 5 litecoin. So spent $528.80 including fees to get even 5 litecoin.

Now worth almost $200, let's go!!!

no, wouldn't be able to do that. you have to physically have the Fiat ($$$) in your account to initiate the buy on gdax. if you are on gdax, click the tab on the top right, click orders and it will show your orders and fills for LTC... if you go on coinbase, it will show all the transactions and it should read (Bought Litecoin) where you can click and it will show you the amount of lite coin you bought and what price you bought it at.
