4K difference at one point, coinbase over 19k, Gemini was still trading 15k+

But unless you had a bunch of funds on each site there was literally no opportunity to trade them back n forth, the network was completely backed up.

I've been following the prices closely for the last month and the price on GDAX is almost always higher than every other reputable exchange.
Once I get approved on BitStamp, I'll be buying there and transferring them immediately to GDAX for selling purposes.

theoretically It makes sense.. but during times of high volatility, its usually difficult to get the funds transferred quickly.

8 hours to get some funds from gdax to binance a few days ago... an expensive 8 hours if you ask me.

Shocka, you transferred btc from Gemini to GDAX with no time issues? Had no funds/coin in Gemini, my thought was to send ether from GDAX to Gemini, trade for btc, send back to GDAX. Ether prices about the same and block time is supposed to be much quicker (from what I understand). Tell me if this is flawed thinking.

I don't really roll with gemini.. I buy on Gdax, then send to binance or bittrex for alt coins. Although thats a good idea, just not feasible given how long its been taking to send from one platform to another.

I agree. It'd be hard to arbitrage the spread among the exchanges because the transfers are not instant.
But even if you are a buy and hold investor, you should still transfer to Coinbase because going from Coinbase to GDAX is instant and you'll get a higher price for your bitcoins on GDAX than anywhere else.
The only thing that concerns me is I hear many people saying to not keep bitcoins in the Coinbase wallet. But my opinion is that Coinbase is highly regulated and they are FDIC backed up to $250,000.
Taking Bitcoin out of Coinbase is like taking USD out of a regular bank and hiding it in your house. Seems pointless to me.

Thanks for the response. I'm verified at GDAX, Gemini, and Binance. Waiting on slow ass bittrex to fix a name snafu. Main reason for Gemini was because of the big gap in btc price from GDAX.
How are transfer times between exchanges with ether?

I've been keeping some in my coinbase.. only reason I do that is because come tax time, I know what I made off trades, and what I held for over a year. 35% of the gdax roll will get taxed, 15% of the coinbase... or thats the assumption I'm operating under. Im not a CPA, but used to share a wall with one so thats what I'm doing.

lets see if they put their money where their mouths are.. smallest cme contract is going to be 5btc so they'll have to have a strong angle.

Dang, that one got by me.. I sold it to get more IOTA when it took the dive yesterday. Hopefully I could dump some IOTA if it gets on it's nightly tear here in a few.

where are you trading iota? wouldn't sell it yet. if they announce it to trade on bittrex you'll hate yourself. IOTA and ADA are long term for me. Took a shot on VEN, trying to see if it reaches its high again. Waiting it out for a month. Mana was a one day trade and rightfully so. So volatile but 300% profit is better than 300% loss.
I'm on Binance, I was just trying to day trade it and make a little scratch between the dips. I plan on keeping IOTA long term though no doubt about that.

man this sh*t is addicting, of course my ACH hasn't went through yet but I was watching IOTA last night, could have pulled off a helluva scalp if I had funds available, it pulled back to $3.17-3.20 ish in the middle of the night, perfect buy opportunity and could have scalped today at like $4.30 ish...ugh
