there is no mma fight that can match what he is going to get from this boxing fight so that is going to be the toughest hill to get over. Surely he will want to fight mma again but taking that smaller check after a big one is tough in any business.

McGregor is probably gonna retire after he loses this fight. Unless he just sticks with boxing, but he'll have to show something in this fight to continue to be a big PPV draw in boxing..

he beat jose aldo the greatest 145er in history, max holloway with a torn acl, chad mendes the best wrestler at 45, he looked like a wizard against eddie alvarez... guys a monster in the striking department .... he also won a round 4 against diaz after almost being finished in round 3 showing his heart in later rounds imo..

of course hes going to lose a boxing match against floyd in his own world , but anywhere else in fighting mcgregor would kill mayweather, even straight boxing with mma gloves id put my money on mcgregor imo

Nate Diaz isn't a heavy hitter and he beat and broke Mcgregor with sheer number of volume strikes landed and high pace in that first fight.. Especially when McGregor started to gas..

I just think Mayweather is gonna be like "there is no way I'm gonna let an MMA fighter beat me in a boxing match".. I'm gonna punish and pepper him to death until he drops, teach him a lesson.... Down goes Frazzzzzier.... I mean Connor...

Like you said, he wouldn't tarnish that record, especially with a loss that would be utterly embarrassing. If you're a competitive person with an ego, who's already gonna be rich no matter what, that shit is worth more than whatever they could pay you to take a dive. Mayweather is human. He's not a money-collecting robot. He doesn't throw this IMO. Therefore we go back to the simple fact that this is someone who's refined his boxing technique for years, beating the best unscathed, against a guy who's "tenacious and super athletic" but has never boxed before. Holy shit, do people have this little respect for boxing technique?

I think Floyd can literally choose whether to murder the guy or just slowly beat him technically. If anyone bets on McGregor, they're betting on a single MIRACLE punch. And I do mean miracle. Vs. the best defensive boxer. So good luck with that. I'm not saying it's impossible, but I think it's in the 1% range, so these odds don't justify the underdog.

The sheer volume of strikes being landed will eventually get Connor to drop in the end I think.. I give Connor 5 or 6 rounds if he's lucky before he begins to gas and look for a way out.. He will also experience complete frustration not being able to land punches on Mayweather..

and he has a much larger paycheck on his mind, everything points to him quitting early and just trying to make it to a decision. At that point it is up to floyd, any amount of pressure and conor will be done by round 6. He doesn't have the cardio and he is way too easy to hit and that was BEFORE he fought one of the best boxers ever.

Sports Science made a video on Mayweather vs McGregor the other day. Mayweather hits about as hard as Nate Diaz except with much higher accuracy. Mayweather also has way better shot defense. If Diaz was able to rock McGregor a few times within (5) 5 min rounds, just imagine what a boxing pro with higher accuracy will do in (12) 3 min rounds. This fight could get ugly real fast for McGregor despite Mayweather not being known as a KO artist. I could literally see McGregor getting TKO'd in the late middle rounds (6-8). With bigger gloves, I don't see Conor's power transitioning well into boxing. Fakkin Canelo and Pacquiao couldn't do anything to Mayweather.

Conor's 28. Floyd's 40. Conor is used to fighting 5 minute rounds in MMA which are way more intense than 3 minute boxing rounds. Cardio won't be an issue and I don't think Floyd has the power or aggressiveness to knock him out.

I think it'll be a sparring session for Floyd and he'll blow him out on points, but I think this will be a full 12 round fight with Floyd winning every round.
