Pliskova would be a good pick where this on a hard surface, and even then she's struggled against Halep who's one of the best returners in the wta... Pliskova without the serve is just another Jankovic; good but no bite... draw was kind to her as the usual suspects tanked in the early rounds

She is not a grinder. I put her in the same category as Radwanska, Jankovic, Keys and somewhat Wozniacki. They all look for the Exit at the first sign of controversy. I avoid betting on them if I can.

Pliskova's game seems nonchalant especially when down a break/serve not working, but she's always delivered until semi's/final and can't seem to get over that hump... I'll give her credit as didn't think she'd make the quarter finals.
Halep is a beast, especially having pulled off that magic trick against Svito: being down a set and losing 5 - 2 in the 2nd.
