I think the biggest problem is compulsion.

Betting all the time instead of capping and waiting
tracking down the best play.

Another problem is knowing when to cut off a hot streak
because hot streaks always go cold - so you have to sit out
the bad time - then come back, instead of trying to hammer
through a cold streak, wait it out, like you're hiding.

Especially on this forum and in the Players lounge.. Lot's of losing threads... When I see multiple threads and everyone is agreeing to bet on a certain team in a big game I'm fading...

Nashville hockey game comes to mind just yesterday.. Entire board was on the Predators and I couldn't understand why?

I can't wait til the entire board jumps on the next big game.. I'm hoping it's the Cleveland Cavs +7 points come this Thursday.. I'll be playing the Warrirors if that's the case
