#177Quick update: Clooney's odds dropping on every site, despite him doing and saying absolutely nothing political. He is now hovering around +7500 on most sites.
For context, on Sportsbook.ag, Clooney is now +7000, while The Rock is up to +10000. Oprah is the only celebrity that has lower odds at almost every book I've checked......
Clooney 2020
where's Mr. Trump gonna be in 2020?
I'm asking....This is the only place I get any exposure to politics, on a sports gambling forum. Seriously.
I only opened this thread because of some of your posts on sports topics, which I enjoyed.Comment -

I just wrote a response and accidentally hit "Reply to Thread" instead of "Post Quick Reply," so I lost it all, but just check the original post for my reasoning on this.
His wife is a major human rights activist and attorney, and the ideal First Lady, especially with how poorly the immigration problem has been handled by Trump. Clooney sold his tequila business for $1 billion, so that will cover his campaign expenses, and then some.
He is wisely staying out the muck for now. He's not commenting on Roseanne, or criticizing Trump's tweets, or any of that shit. He knows he cannot come off as another whiny liberal.
Once he starts getting political, the odds will plummet, and obviously they'll drop even more when he announces his candidacy. Again, there's a reason his odds are dropping, while almost everyone else besides Biden is going the opposite direction. It's just a wise investment to make right now.Comment -

#180Clooney can't handle the rigors of a year ad a half long campaign and no matter how he remakes his image, Middle America knows that he's an ultra-liberal and Trump will surely remingr them of that at every turn. He has no chance and the Dems know that.Comment -

Clooney is the only guy who can talk like Trump. He's the only celebrity who would still be taken very seriously, because like I said, he's not being a whiny little bitch every time Trump does something, and he's also not pandering to liberals. He's staying quiet. He's waiting to make his move, and when he does, it will be a legitimate move.Comment -

#182He has a long record of liberalism which can't be hidden. The Dems need the rural voters in swing states and Clooney won't get them. The Dems will go with Joe Biden, a straight white male, to flip those voters and will go with Harris for VP to get the female and minority vote.Comment -

#183Beating Trump?
Better go with hard-nosed Biden, who is going to slug Trump when he get's the chance.
He talks tough. I like that and he seems to difficult to move off his stride, or losing his composure.
Trump/Biden confrontation in the coming election will be worth the ticket to see.
*Take Biden to get to the finals, then dump him as you would a rotten apple. He was at 6/1 I do believe.
We all know which one has the intelligence to finish in first place. Has Trump ever lost anything he has striven for?
*That idea above? Jump on Trump with all of your potential Biden winnings.Comment -

#185Thanks man -- I'm talking about 2020, though I will bet on him again in 2024 if he decides not to run this time around.
I just wrote a response and accidentally hit "Reply to Thread" instead of "Post Quick Reply," so I lost it all, but just check the original post for my reasoning on this.....
Well it would be foolhardy for him to run against Trump. I mean how much of a loser does it make a person to lose the presidential vote against Trump? Embarrassing. Nobody will de-throne him in 2020.
So I guess if Clooney is even interested as you think he is, 2024 would be the more legitimate shot at it.
By the way, a reply you made during football season to BigDaddyQH is what made me a fan.Comment -

#187I am posting this now as physical proof of my prediction. I have already wagered $100 on it at +10000, which is less than ideal considering he is +30000 in some places, but those are the only odds I could get with my book.
Politics in America is no longer about politicians; or at least it won't be for another eight years. A celebrity will be elected in 2020, whether it's Trump or someone famous on the Democratic side -- you just need to pick the right one.
Four years will not be enough to convince Middle America that electing a celebrity is not a good idea. Even as Trump continues to fail, most of his supporters love him simply because it's refreshing to see a "shakeup" in the White House.
On the other side, his detractors have shown themselves to be willing to vote for just about anyone, from Kanye West to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, simply because they now know that it's possible for one of their favorite celebrities to actually win the presidency.
George Clooney is the only man in America who could beat Donald Trump in a general election besides Barack Obama. He is the only man who can match the star power and "non-political" nature of Trump, while still carrying the necessary grace and poise to offset Trump's brash demeanor.
Do you know anyone who truly hates George Clooney? He's a pretty neutral guy, and he has stayed fairly quiet since Trump was elected, even though he is undoubtedly furious by it.
But you know why he's stayed quiet? He doesn't want to be just another "Hollywood liberal" complaining about mean old Donald. That would instantly scare off the Trump supporters who would potentially vote for him after they realize Trump isn't doing any of the things he promised.
He's waiting for Trump to self-destruct, and then he will begin the rumblings.
If you need some real reason to believe that George Clooney could feasibly become POTUS, you don't need to dig too deep.
George Clooney is one of the most well-known activists in Hollywood, and he's not just another douchebag who started some random charity. He gives tons of money to real causes, travels around the world, and has a real passion for helping people.
His wife, Amal Clooney, is a major factor in this potential presidential run. She is a driving force behind his philanthropy, and has real-life experience dealing with some of the most high-profile human rights cases around the world.
Plus, just search her on Google Images. Melania has redefined the image of a First Lady, and Amal certainly fits (and exceeds) this new image. Can't you just see her being the First Lady? Now look at The Rock's wife, or Mark Cuban. They're just random chicks. Not First Lady material.
George Clooney's father, Nick Clooney, ran for a seat in the House of Representatives in Kentucky as a Democrat not too long ago, in 2004. This isn't exactly being George Bush Jr., but he has seen the political process up close and personal.
Four years will not be enough to change the narrative of "politicians suck, drain the swamp, etc." A non-politician will win, and I am willing to bet that Donald Trump will not be re-elected after three more years of this insanity.
So, that leaves us with Democrats. The Rock is a Republican, so he likely won't actually be able to run anyway, unless he switches parties. Tom Brady and Vince McMahon also fall into this category (I've seen odds offered on them), but obviously those are jokes as well.
Mark Zuckerberg can't even make a good commencement address, let alone debate Donald Trump in front of America. Mark Cuban would quickly be exposed as having zero charm or ability to truly connect with people.
Oprah would never run, and many people hate her to begin with. Kanye will not merit serious consideration. There is no real reason to think Leonardo DiCaprio would be interested in a political career (at least not in the sense that Clooney would be as outlined above), so I'm throwing him out as well, though he would be an interesting choice.
That leaves me with three people -- Kevin Spacey (can't see it), Al Franken (too political at this point), and of course, George Clooney.
George Clooney will win the election in four years. I'm fairly sure of it. Bet it now before he's 100/1...and then 50/1...and then 25/1...etc. Once he announces his run, the odds are going to sink like a rock.
Just imagine it for a second. He's the guy for the job. He's the only guy who can beat Trump.

Thinking of moving myself at some point if things don't improve.. Sell properties and move.. California is going down the shitter fast under our current liberal Governor leadership and all the sanctuary homeless tent cities we have now.. Trump has very little influence over here unfortunately..
Gas prices 4 bucks a gallon, transit and traffic is the worst, State taxes getting absurdly high, etc.. etc.. Beaches dirty and polluted now from the LA down town dirty run off.. Public schooling here is the worst.. English is becoming the second language in East LA...
