never leave the continental u.s.a. maybe canada ok. cannot rely on any help from foreigners if you get into a bad situation. cannot rely on u.s. govt. to help you if you get into a bad situation. good luck trying to get out of a mexican jail for example. terrorists wandering all through europe thirsting to find u.s. citizens to maim. plenty of places to visit right here that you have never been to. why spend money in foreign countries even if you do manage to stay out of trouble. stay away from airports and rent a car if you don't want to burn up your own traveling.

by going to a foreign country where most don't speak english. have to convert your money to their currency. having all your stuff searched by minimum wage t.s.a. agents at airports both ways. have to get shots to avoid diseases. dozens of reasons not to travel abroad. nothing to see there that hasn't been blown up either during WWII or recently. foreign soldiers manning the streets. sure, go to venice and watch the raw sewage float by in the canals they use for streets.

the world isn't. but the people in it are out to get us. fleecing tourists is a cottage industry in europe and asia. what you have to go through to get to those places and what you have to deal with while you are there kind of takes the fun and enjoyment out of it. to each his own.
