    Unethical Line Change
A top rated book posted all four lines for the NCAA lacrosse quarterfinals yesterday (Saturday) morning. Two of the games were played yesterday (Saturday) and the Maryland/Albany & Syracuse/Towson games to be played Sunday.

So yesterday when the lines posted I wagered on all four games including a bet on Syracuse
-160. After wagering I kept an eye on the lines and noticed that Syracuse started taking money as the line slowly crept up. Then all of a sudden the Syracuse line disappeared while the Maryland/Albany game remained on the board for about an hour more.

When I got home later in the day I noticed my bets were cancelled on both games, citing "wrong date". So I'm figuring to myself they must have posted the game dates as being played on 5/20/17 so they had to cancel all wagers. The lines were never reposted. I'm not sure why, they could have just corrected the date and reposted.

So today comes and they open Syracuse at
-200. So the book gets a free sniff at what the public is gonna bet and they adjust the line to screw us all.

Why didn't they remove the Maryland/Albany line at the same time they removed the Syracuse line yesterday? I'm starting to think that they were taking too much action on Syracuse and found a way to pull the plug. I'm not even sure they posted the wrong date yesterday as I wagered from my phone and didn't look at the dates. If they had the wrong date listed they could have just reposted with the correct date.

I didn't post the books name because I didn't want people to defend the book based on just their name.

Immediately withdraw every penny and never play there again. You are playing on your phone and it is not practical to check the marketplace. Books that make mistakes cost you money in the long run.

I sent the book an email and asked them to restore my bet and also asked them why they moved the line since there has been no change to any player status, injury reports, weather etc.

I'll post back with their response.

I recently had a bad experience with a highly regarded sportsbook, too. Several winning prop bets were no actioned as "human error," -- a reason I completely accept as valid when true -- but then the lines for the next h2h between those teams, played all of 2 days later, had identical lines on the same bets.

Trying to be a good guy -- I'd never knowingly bet a past post or obviously wrong line -- I emailed them to let them know they probably wanted to take those lines down and got a response back saying the lines were fine. Um, OK. Obviously, I didn't bet them again, knowing that a loss would be a loss but a win ran the risk of being a "human error."

So the book responded to my email telling me it is a wagering issue and that I need to contact the wagering department. I can't call them cause I'm at work and it's a mute point now since the game is started.

It happened to me too. I assume it was the same book. Mariners were playing in Houston, last game of a four game series. Astros had won the first three and I was hell bend Seattle wasn't going to get swept. Long story short, Seattle to win was smth like + 170. I check Seattle by -1 1/2 and, surprise, surprise the line was - 420 . I called and the guy on the line immediately starts acting like Rambo: Hey, that's the line we have. You bet on it if you want or pass, up to you. - Trying to explain to him was like talking to the wall. It cost me plenty, cuz Seattle won 4-2. Fcuk Derick or Warwick or whatever his stupid name was ...

Looks like you might of caught a break as Townson is up 6-0 after 1st qtr.

Yep, looks that way so far. I'm a Syracuse fan so hard to cheer against them but a part of me wants them to lose so I won't be so angry.

Either way, still doesn't make it right for a book to be able to do this to players.

5dimes has been freerolling players for years, they keep canceling wagers citing 'incorrect odds', 'human error' etc when there is non, usually after the bets won. i guess now we can add 'wrong date' to their list of excuses

just bet spreads and totals and you should avoid these kind of 'errors' by them

its unfortunate that gamblers in the US have so limited options that they have to use 5dimes and consider it 'a+'

as ive said in another thread, a book whos' morals dont stop them from breaking the law, probably wont stop them from screwing over their customers

Yep, the "wagering department" was the exact same answer I got when they no actioned winning bets for incorrect lines that weren't. I can neither CONFIRM nor deny that the book in question was 5dimes, but it sure does sound like these stories are a lot alike.

I will devuldge the book tomorrow after I get my money out. I withheld the books name because there are too many SBR snitches here that would inform the book about the thread and the book could slow pay me in retaliation.
