Capitals r all time chokers

They lost to defending cup champions..how did they choke?? Do you just type for the hell of it. You could add the black hawks if u want..they were swept..caps lost in 7. The odds series was caps small favs...stick to CNN Anderson clopper. Have you ever thought that other teams are very good.

When you are very good or arguably better, you shouldn't always lose in the first or second round. Teams that regularly dominate the regular season and play worse when the games matter most aren't considered clutch. And every year you get a chance to lose that moniker but instead solidify it, they are the true definition of chokers. Ovechkin is one man. Holtby has to be held accountable as well. Every team that goes deep has a keeper show up with a super game. He usually doesn't. It's always the other guy.

Ovechkin is too old and slow now, other players on that team are a bigger threat. I knew all those years of run and gun style playing recklessly would catch up to him. Instead of preserving his body he wanted to be a wrecking ball out there, now hes lost more than a step.

They do this every year guy.

If it was just this, they may get a pass. They dont get close which makes it even worse.

And the penguins were NOT better then them this year, they outshot them every game.

Washington has 7 first place and 2 second place overall finishes in the league during the last 10 years (it's a truly remarkable regular season record if you think about it). They've been by far the most dominant club in the league in the last decade or so.

...and during those 10 years, they never made it past the 2nd round of playoffs.

For one reason or another, as a team, they simply don't show up for the playoffs.

Ovechkin isn't a captain. He's an assistant. Successful captains are mostly american or canadian or guys who speak fluent English in the locker room and can relate to all guys. You see that with Chicago, Pitt, the Kings during their run, most of the teams that have multiple stanley cups the last decade...

You saw it with the red wings for so many years. Federov was an MVP and the wings best player (not for a career, but for a 5 year period he was a top 3 player in hockey, and Yzerman was top 15 in the league but Yzerman was our captain). It's not necessarily the best player that has to be the captain. There's a lot of examples too. Datysuk and Zetterberg. Datysuk was the 3rd best player in the NHL for about 5 years but he can't speak a word of English. How is he gonna be the captain?

Crosby is both the best player and best leader in the NHL and that's why he'll be winning several more cups before he's done. Ovechkin will never be Crosby because he's a foreign player that doesn't have the same leadership mentality as a guy like Crosby who is from Canada and has been a leader for club and country since day 1.

Ovechkin needs to go somewhere and take the assistant role.

Anaheim stopped a terrible streak in game 7s .... Wash continues to blow it, outplay your opponent last 2 games to set up game 7 and you get shutout, unacceptable for that type of talent but Im sure the track record of the Caps in the playoffs play in their heads before the game. Credit to a nicked Pens team to continue their road to the cup

The Penguins were so banged up,this should have been the Caps series to win,no excuses. Even reading the Penguins forum before the series,just about everybody thought the Caps would carve up that Pens defense.

That Hawks core are three time champs,they can afford to lose a series or two,theyve earnt it,the Caps sure as hell haven't.

Lol i think you need to watch more hockey. You realize they just did a coaches poll on the best player in hockey...and 16 out of 25 said crosby right? That number would have likely been higher too if not for some injuries throughout the year.

Basically every player and coach in the NHL know Crosby is the best..... so does your opinion count more than theirs? Nope.

Crosby won a ring before Kessel buddy when Malkin wasn't even a top 10 player at that point....

Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby’s reputation appears to have improved considerably among the players, topping the categories of smartest player, toughest to play against and the best role model.
He’s also considered the top active player to build a franchise around, garnering 69 percent of the votes.

And that was in 2011.....where Crosby wasn't nearly the force he is today.....

Crosby is one of those players/leaders that others just follow. If you were a player on the Pens and took even one shift off, you would be out of town. Nobody takes nights off with him around.

MacJesus will be the best forward in the league in a few years....until then Crosby is without a doubt the best.

It's his fault they only went to.one finals and lose.n lose. One team wins it all..this.year you have one division.winner.in final.4. What does this tell you..its.very hard to.win. Islanders haven't done crap.since.cups 35 years ago..
