Met the guy back in 2002 and he was totally cool. Never knew he had some issues.

Not sure if its age or whats happened, but the guy got nasty and everything became about money for everything, even when kids were involved for autographs if he didn't get cash the guy wasn't doing it

A lot of older athlete's got like that back when trading cards and autographs were making big money. I think the older guys didn't make much back when they played and they got nasty when guys were making good money selling their gear and they wouldn't get anything. I kind of understand that.

Bob Feller had the same kind of reputation before he died. Being a military guy I thought maybe he would soften for us since he was a military guy, man he was a bastard as well. As long as you paid him he would sign anything, hell a damn 20 mm shell he didn't care
