Sproles part 2 ?

I'm a San Diego State fan and watched Pumphrey a lot.

If the Eagles use him as a slot receiver, or on screens he can be a nice weapon. He's got great moves in the open field.

If he's used as a regular running back he will get hurt fast. He's just too small, and will get crushed by nose tackles and linebackers.

I'd say if the Eagles use him like Sproles, but hand him the ball less he will do fine.

C'mon Philly, just because Peavy played for and was drafted by the Padres doesn't mean he'd know anything about the SDSU football players. Nonetheless, I hope DP works out well for your team.

agree with these guys in that he won't be an every down back but could be a similar player to Sproles. He is a very quick small guy but has some toughness too, good football player. Look at the numbers he put up, he can make some plays.

Not as versatile as Darren Sproles. I don't see him on special teams. He ran against the Mountain West...they had 2 defensive players drafted this year and one was Pumphrey's teammate. They will have to use him sparingly.

agree that he is not as versatile as Sproles. Due to his size, it's easy to make the comparision though. They are both little guys that are more shifty and quick in small areas than fast. I do think if used correctly, he will be a productive player and good change of pace back.

Agree with you on this one. I don't think he is even worthy of the Sproles comparison. Sproles was faster and more illusive, not to mention, he played in a top conference in cfb against real competition. Pumphreys got the rush record because he was rushing against teams that couldn't stop a nose bleed every week his whole career.

Without googling, name me 3 top defenses Sproles played against at K. State in the late 90's?
