You obviously just say stuff to get a rise out of people...but you don't know squat about his impact on the sport. There's a reason he's been selected as NASCAR's most popular driver like 14 times...his impact with sponsors, the military, schools, community projects, etc goes way beyond others guys who have left the sport like Gordon, Stewart, and Edwards. Oh and he won Daytona twice as well so stop with the He never did anything crap

Why should he risk his azz every weekend riding around in a circle at top speed when he has enough in the bank to set himself up for life? Smart move, NASCAR is going down the tubes anyway. Half the people who starting going to races back in the day just went to watch guys crash, that's the crap no one talks about. Then they made these hicks into stars and made tons of cash off of merchandising and sponsors. When they started making the sport safer, it took away the reason half these nuts wen to see it.

i saw him interviewed right after and he just didn't appear to be fazed about it at all. wasn't happy or upset. no emotion. pull the tape of the interview, which he shouldn't have done and you'll find it bizarre. don't have any knowledge of their relationship, but got the feeling it was more like a "seinfeld, oh that's a shame" non-reaction. i could see dollar signs dancing over his head. there was some resentment towards his old man there. absolutely.
