#5Ex-NFL star Aaron Hernandez, who is already serving life sentence for 2013 murder, was acquitted Friday in a 2012 double slaying prosecutors said was fueled by his anger over a spilled drink. The former tight end for the New England Patriots wept quietly as the verdicts were read in Boston. Relatives of the victims sobbed loudly.
The jury found Hernandez not guilty of first-degree murder in the killings of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado. It convicted him of a single charge: unlawful possession of gun. The judge sentenced him to an additional four to five years in prison, separate from his existing life sentence, for that conviction.Comment -

#6OK THIS IS OVER REACTION. HE IS STILL SPENDING LIFE IN PRISON. I JUST READ THE NEWS...FOUND NOT GUILTY FOR ONE OF THE MURDERS.
The decision changes little for Hernandez, who was already serving a sentence of life without the possibility of parole in a Massachusetts prison for the 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd in North Attleborough. While that first conviction will be automatically appealed, it is unlikely the former New England Patriots star will be granted a new trial, let alone ever walk free.Comment -

#15Probably hurts his street cred in the prison. A couple more bodies on him and he'd be the king there. I have no doubt whatever cell block he is that he is calling the shots and running things. His gang affiliation, money, and murders give him top rank. Plus, he's huge so nobody is going to mess with him physically.Comment -

With all the convict athletes they should pay per view former pro athletic competitions with minimal rule enforcement to help mitigate all that wasted tax money on this trialComment -

#35Aaron already serving life w out parole for murder of Odin lloyd
Some evidence tied him to these two unsolved murders from before lloyd murder.
It was important for the closure for the victims families to bring the case to trial since they had evidence linking him, most specifically witnesses plus a gun that was found in a hrnrzndez friends home which was the gun uses in the crime.
Plus on the lloyd murder he can get verdict overturned on appeal even though the chance is minimal, so this one was important to keep him locked up if possible.
It's important to pin murders on murderers hence the trial.
