The Capitals were -400 to win this series from the getgo. That's over two times better than the next closest team oddswise to win its series which I believe was Boston -195 against Ottawa.


There's no way you can advocate taking Toronto +310 down 3 games to 2 when they were favored to lose in 5 to begin with. Bad bad play. The only good value bet I could have advocated taking, which busted anyway, would have been the Wild +800 to come back from 3-0 to win its series because Minnesota was favored in 5. Toronto, heck no, that's like betting the Rockies to come back from 3-1 down against the Cubs.
