            and there is the conundrum... most likely scenario is most would take those as singles, if betting on dogs; as one loss is all it takes to turn a monster bet into $0

              Actually round robins would be more likely than straight bets if you're trying to make a little score at least.
              If you hit 2 of 4 you come out a good winner.
