That's actually true in many cases

In my case I had broken arm before basketball tryouts and glad I did, the basketball players were all rich snobs at my school especially the best player, I would have ended up cracking him in the face and being kicked off the team

Lead to a state vball championship as captain and much cooler friends than the useless jocks

once i showed people how to bump set legally with their arms/hands flat instead of locking hands/fingers it was like a whole new game to them... i hardly ever used to soft set even though i was better than most

used to play 2 man beach volleyball here, even played in an open tournament and lost in the 1st round to sinjin smith/stoklos

i thought it was weird that sinjin wore a watch and could still bump so smooth

my brother used to live with allen allen in hawaii

even though volleyball was pretty popular, the money just wasn't there, i think first place would win around 10k in a beach volleyball tourney

and yet zack morris would wear sideout sport stuff, stores all over the place had volleyball gear, heck even the movie "sideout" where a guy from milwaukee that wears mossimo stuff all the time becomes a pro beach volleyball player... could've been me!
