How often do you buy the hook?

When I was far more on my grind, I remember doing this here and there.

Reflecting on it, if I am concerned that the hook is going to be my undoing - why the hell make the bet in the first place?

Is football the exception to move it off key numbers?

No need to ever buy any points on a straight bet. Ever. If you think you might need the hook or more, you might as well stay away from the play in the first place. Adding juice to a play never makes sense. I can see adding a half or more if you do a parlay. The juice won't hurt the initial wager but the payout will be reduced a tad.

if you are worrying about the hook your a losing gambler long term. Stick to -105 or less juice and save yourself a couple of dollars long run
