I love the guy and he brings great insight, but he knows almost nothing about college basketball. He knows the game of basketball, but not the specific teams and players. It is the same thing every year. You can tell he only watches a few things. Just said USC or Providence could beat SMU. Anyone who watches a little bit of college hoops knows SMU is one of the most dangerous teams in this tournament.

#3SMU really isn't some invincible force though. There's a reason they're 29-4 and a 6 seed. From a talent perspective, USC especially has the hammers to really pound away at them. I'll reserve all judgment until I see a point spread, but I don't expect SMU to go beyond the Round of 32.Comment -

To do what he did @ his size on the court is fukkin phenomenal. Not an opinion, a FACT. Chuckster is about 6`3".
Off the court, he is in the entertainment business. Love him or hate him, he is a success.

Lmao yeah basically.
We all know that their Duke, Arizona, Kansas, and UNC Final Fours are never gonna come to fruition. And they're blindly picking upsets without knowing the odds. They could say I like Bucknell over West Virginia because Bucknell has good "ball control" and not know that Bucknell opened as like a 15 point underdog, and then they'll actually pick it on their brackets.Comment -

#20He knows the game of basketball, but he probably couldn't name more than 3-4 guys on any of the 3-10 seeds. I just think it's funny when they ask him insight on games when he doesn't know anything about the teams. I don't mind him as much at halftime because he can give insight on a game he is watching, but asking him about matchups and paths to the final four before the tourney starts is dumb imo.Comment -

#28This could have happened to any team. That's why, outside of the 1 seeds, you're not going to see many huge spreads for the 2 seeds and lower from now on. You'll see stuff like St. Mary's +4/+180 against Arizona or Butler -3/-160 vs. MTSU.
The quality of the field teams this year is such that the Round of 32 and Sweet Sixteen will probably lend itself to plenty of upsets that look big on paper because you see an 11 seed beating a 3 seed, but these are relatively minor upsets by spread and ML.
It wasn't like SMU was favored by 12 over USC, they were favored by 6 with a lot of hype, heat, and $$$ riding on them. The upset in these cases happens all the time.

#29Apparently.
I used that as one example. My point was that he doesn't know the teams or personnel. He knows the game of basketball, but not college basketball. When he said that, he probably couldn't name more than 5 players between USC and SMU.Comment -
