So I'm Watching This Extra Innings Rule In The WBC......
......and I actually think it would not be a bad idea. Starting in the 11th inning, they are putting runners in first and second to start the inning. I wouldn't mind them doing this in MLB if they started it in the 12th or 13th inning. That gives the clubs plenty of time to take care of it in the traditional way. The NFL and NHL have revised their OT policies in recent history, and there really hasn't been that much backlash.

Also, I think the MLBPA would be behind it because it could save wear and tear on pitching staffs, and time that every day players are on the field. The one thing I would say is you should not charge ER's to the pitcher in this situation. It isn't their fault that the rules would make them inherit 2 runners with no outs.

haha this would be funny , imagine all the bad beats from 1-1 ties going over after extra innings. Good idea though , games already last way too long.

if anything this rule should be in the mlb with 162 games, not in something where its 3 games, one win means too much

Dumb rule. MLB will ultimately loss fans of they keep implementing stupid rules. Their TV ratings will go down just as fast as the NFLs did this year.

I'd rather MLB start declaring ties after nine innings than fagging up the game like that.

Call me old school... I'd rather just let it be.

How about a Home Run Derby for Extra Innings?

This thing turning into a joke.

way too easy for a 3 way tie to happen like it did last night like Mexico

I wouldn't do it. One team can have the fastest runners on base and it's a bigger advantage if the runner steals a base or if there's a wild pitch. Stuff like that can spoil the fun of putting the go ahead run in scoring position.

These are softball rules. Typically you put your last 1-2 batted outs on the bases, whoever that may be. That way teams can't just put their fastest runner on base.
