    [QUOTE=JIBBBY;26840014]Blondie not the first..

    ^^^One of the first rappers at the beginning of the hip hop period, at the end of the 1970s, was also hip hop's first DJ, DJ Kool Herc. Herc, a Jamaican immigrant, started delivering simple raps at his parties, which some claim were inspired by the Jamaican tradition of toasting.

    I think this guy started it all and then it was officially called rap then after..

    I know but she was the first i believe to actually get a rap to #1 with Rapture on the pop charts. And there is that rumor that say she is the first but i know she was not.

          Rapture came out in 1980 and it is not exactly a rap song but it does have rap verses in it.. First rap song was in 1979 to hit the charts... Blondie a year to late..

          Blondie I do believe was the first WHITE female artist ever to do a reggae song that hit the charts though.. I could be wrong but I doubt it..
