Why Would Any NFL Team Pursue Tony Romo?
    Why shouldn't you?

    1. Let's face it... he knows the Dallas offense. He put a lot of time into check downs.... hot reads etc. You know how long it would take him to try and duplicate this offensive formula for another team? Furthermore... make sure his teammates are on the same check as him? I just don't think you'll have offensive rhythm like what he has done for Dallas.

    2. Age. He might have maybe 1 year left in him. Again... key word might. What if it takes him 1 (waste) year just to get the offense in-sync?

    3. Mobility. Doesn't have the mobility he wants did. I think Tom Brady has more mobility than Romo. That's not saying much.

    4. Injury prone. All it would take is one good hit and his career would be over.

Factor all of this in... would you give this guy 10+ million a year?

What would you even offer him?

Forcing a deal like this... could possibly screw your entire team up for a few years.

I just don't see any value here.

    What are your thoughts?

I'm not sure why any team would want Romo or Cutler. Romo is one sack away from retirement and Cutler lacks any sort of motivation and leadership skills.

Here's what you know. Tony Romo is a an above average NFL QB at worst when he's healthy. Sure, he can't stay healthy but THAT is why you are getting him so cheap now. I'm surprised a team that wants to win NOW doesn't bring him in. I get you don't want to start a QB controversy but why not see if you can squeeze at least some games out of the guy to help you get to the playoffs at least

What still amazes me is that Romo is #4 all time in passer rating.

John Elway wants Romo and that donkey toothed SoB usually gets what he wants

"He's too old, he's too fragile, he should just retire" all things they said about Peyton and Elway proved them wrong. Romo will end up Manning 2.0 if he pulls it off.

This is true. I went through a surgery myself.... just thankful to live a normal life minus pain.

I also like the Romo to Houston idea. Could you imagine the headlines in Texas? Jerry Jones would never allow this.

This is my exact argument when people talk crap about jay cutler (which I don't like either). But stack up all the starting qbs in the league and you likely can't find 15 better than him. Meaning in theory cutler (and romo?) are in the top 15 best qbs in the world right now. Everyone wants different until they realize what different looks like.

Cutler is just a loser though, nobody will ever win with him. You can find guys with half his talent that give you a better chance to win because guys actually want to play for them.

I'm just saying... Romo will have Brett Favre Interception-like numbers. Eli and Romo are roughly the same age? Eli is a tool. Two turds in the NFL.

A team who wants their fans to experience that hope and then despair that the Cubs fans went thru for many years. So a sadist by definition

The bottom line is that no NFL team is near going broke, so the money means NOTHING. Having said that, I will give 16-1 odds that Romo does not finish a season as the day one starter without losing at least a week to injury.
