The playoffs are all about "star" players and the Celtics don't have one. Thomas and Horford are 2nd tier players at best. In the playoffs you need players that can flat out take over a game like Lebron or Kyrie.

Lebron has been in like 6 or 7 straight finals? Boston is good but they're not beating the Cavs 4 times unless they get Carmelo or Jimmy Butler or someone of that caliber. Then I'll say they're the favorite.

Honestly if you think about it, Cavs bench is better than Boston's bench. Shumpert (who is a bench player when JR comes back), Kyle Korver, Derrick Williams, Channing Frye, Richard Jefferson?

The east is better than anytime in the last 8 years. That is indisputable. The cavs will get a tough second round this year. They will not be cake walking to the finals.

Point being that futures value is about 2 things... Injuries and trade bait & cap room. Both are very much in Boston's favor when talking Celts/Cavs.

Wonder how Celts are only+532 to win east.

With Love hurt the Cavs could lose in the playoffs. Even if he comes back fine...these are the kinds of things that player admit to still hurting after losing a series.

Also, you have to think Celts will smell blood along with player prospects. Cavs are down 3 starter/six man and no Kyrie backup.
