How did they not run the ball twice and kick the FG to go up two scores with about 2:35 on the clock or about 3:40 on the clock if NE uses two of its three remaining time outs? They are still huge favorites to win the game if they make that one simple decision not to pass the ball in that situation.

#4Carrol decision to pass that ball instead of making lynch run. Which was worse? There have been worse decisionsComment -

#6Even after the first sack pushed them back to the 35 I would have still run the ball to try to get a few yards. Their kicker has solid 50-plus range.Comment -

#7Carroll decision was worse, but you almost have a gimmie to go up two scores and you make NE use its time outs in the process. Even if they do score and convert to cut it to 3 again, it comes down to an onside kick. Atlanta recovers, history is rewritten. Just difficult for me to believe the back to back calls that even gave NE a chance to move ATL from the 23 back to midfield.Comment -

#8Karma. Minnesota was supposed to go up 2 scores on Atlanta and the kicker missed. Ruining the Vikings chance to go to the super bowl. The kicker had not missed a kick all year. No guarantee the kicker would have hit the fgComment -

#9Entire comeback was miraculous, but the Falcs could have prevented it by playing smarter in that situation. The Julio catch should have ended this. Unreal comeback - Props to Brady and PatsComment -

#10Not the point. Sure he could have missed. You put your team in the best situation to win. Calling those two pass plays and getting sacked for -27 yards total was a total jack move. 36-40 yd FG is made about 87-88 percent of the time in that situation with that kicker. That was the winning play at that moment and he blew itComment -

#11I am a big keep your foot on the gas kind of guy. I am also a big pass near the goal line guy too ( except if you have Marshawn Lynch)
Up 8. You had to run it here. It was a clock, field position, score thing.
This was a real no-brainer.
Again, I like when teams pass at the game to get that final first down to ice it, rather than try to run out clock, or make other team use timeouts.
Forty yard Field Goals are just gjmmies in these conditions. And being up 8 is just different than being up 7.Comment -

#12Maybe the deep drop-back on the 3rd and ! call was worse. D-line already coming up field hard, due to the situation. (This was the fumble play)
And what the heck?! On-side kick, safe at 28-20? Pats weren't going to on-side kick with 6 minutes left.Comment -

#15Total meltdown by ATL. ATL got too cocky and it got them. Before the Ryan fumble the score was 12-28 and they could of brought the clock down to 6 minutes in the 4th before punting. Instead, they gave NE the short field to make it one possession without using much clock and the rest was history.Comment -
