Not sure what white trash neighborhoods you're frequenting, but I haven't put a 7' garage door in a home that I've built in many years. Most of our clients drive Suburbans, trucks, etc, and even these are tight getting into a 7' door. Our standard garage door is 8X9. I don't build for people interested in living in a home with 7' tall garage doors.

when my father installed a regulation height goal, he had to mount it on the roof over our garage.... even accounting for the slight gradient slope in the photo above, it is clear the hoop is nowhere near 10' high....

however, good elevation on the jump, about 9" from what I could tell.....

I have to agree with the Donkster on this one. A 9" vertical won't work unless you're 6"10 feet with a 7 foot wingspan.

I just broke my ankle playing ball but I could still one hand dunk as of last September in my 50's. I can't quite 2 hand dunk consistently anymore mainly because I'm carrying too much weight. I'm 6'4" and use to have a 42" vertical when I played receiver in college. I use to be able to dunk anything inside the free throw line. No shitting. Oh to be young again.
