All of this is because there are violent passages in the Quran and Hadith that extremists take literally. The Old Testament says an eye for an eye but that doesn't fly anymore. Religious books aren't timeless pieces. If they were written by "God" or an extension of him, they would be timeless. Plain and simple. God can foresee the future.

Islam was spread by the sword -- and that's fine, it was a long time ago and one of the only ways to get the religion started. But now people quote the "lesser jihad" in the Hadith and ppl are still being forced to convert, or have to leave the land or pay a jizya.

Isis uses the Quran to justify their actions.

Muslim people are so scared to denounce even 1 small passage in the Quran or Hadith.

Why?

It's a fear of free thinking, not a fear of God. The simple nature of asking any existential questions is foreign to them.

We need more Muslim people to question things and challenge assumptions instead of just taking everything their parents tell them about religion when they are young as fact.

It's fine to be a religious person. Just have to be able to look at things from other perspectives as well. Important skill in life. Rationalizing with other ideologies, not just your own.

I know Paco's kids will be able to, because he's a smart guy. But many people just brainwash their kids. And by the time they're older, that fear sets in... that fear of free thinking. It's foreign. And changing your mindset is one of the hardest things in this world to do.

When the Constitution was written, the intent was so that government could not force religion on people. With that being said, the United States WAS founded with the values of God and Christianity whether you like it or not.
