I would have expected you to come across more blacks during your time in the homeless shelter.

shit, I remember about 10 years ago when both Williams sisters were in their prime and dominating the women's tennis circuit, someone asked shock jock Dan Imus if the Williams would ever appear in Playboy and his response was they would have a better chance of appearing in National Geographic than Playboy!.....

Here is the latest on this:
ESPN Drops Reporter Over Venus Williams ‘Gorilla’ Remark
Broadcaster Doug Adler says he “inadvertently chose the wrong word to describe her play.”
01/20/2017 06:36 am ET | Updated 2 hours ago
Regardless of whether he said “gorilla” or “guerrilla” to describe Venus Williams, a commentator for ESPN has been sidelined.
On Thursday the sports network removed tennis commentator Doug Adler from its Australian Open coverage after he made a controversial remark to explain Williams’ play, The Associated Press reported.
During Williams’ second-round victory over Stefanie Voegele, Adler noted that Williams attacked more strongly against Voegele’s second serve. The word he used to reinforce his point became the subject of hot debate.
Offended viewers and some media outlets heard it as the racially charged “gorilla effect.” But Adler said he meant the similar-sounding “guerrilla”― as in the battle tactic ― and “simply and inadvertently chose the wrong word to describe her play,” the Chicago Tribune reported.
ESPN told AP in a statement:
“During an Australian Open stream on ESPN3, Doug Adler should have been more careful in his word selection. He apologized and we have removed him from his remaining assignments.”
what a fkng joke!

If anyone is following this still, it's starting to pick up steam. Adler is suing ESPN and will probably win.
Clay Travis & Dan Lebitard have talked about it. It sounds like Adler has a case

In his career has he ever used the reference before? If he did it should be non-issue right?

No, he was using the term guerrilla.

Clay Travis broke it down wonderfully this morning. When you break down an issue using logic and facts, it's impossible to think Adler was being racist. Venus is beloved in the tennis community. Adler is going to get paid. ESPN is a joke.

I didn't hear him this morning, but heard him talking about it in the past. He even had Adler on the show. The fact he got fired from ESPN is such a total joke. Curt Schilling got a raw deal, too. If you're not a bleeding liberal, or at least play the role, you can forget about working at ESPN.

gorillas are strong, smart, compassionate, alpha, etc... They're what men and professional athletes should strive to be like
I too have never understood the negative side of someone being compared to a gorilla when talking about sports; gorilla's are fkken massive and stronger than probably any other animal on the planet.

me too.............. unless he's some stupid hard-core racist trying to get a kick of life, "gorilla tennis" makes no sense whereas "guerilla tennis" makes lots of sense.
a bit surprised he didn't think of this beforehand but i totally agree that PC is out of control. like when lindsay lohan mentions "Nggrs in Paris" she gets buried by PC people. but not JayZ/Kayne who coined the title and used it.

What if the commentator said she was charging the net like a rare white-gorilla, would that smooth things over?
