I'd rather the government hire more immigration judges/lawyers and have them expedite the immigration proceedings so they do not have to detain people or release them on their own (hoping that they return for their court date...***spoiler alert, many don't***) for months, sometimes years. Build court houses closer to the border. Hold Mexico responsible for the Central Americans they are allowing to travel through their country unfettered.
