Has nothing to do with speaking to him, he was under oath and did not tell the truth. If he lied, didn't remember or some other made up excuse he didn't tell the truth while under oath. He can't go back and say this is what I meant to say, the damage is already done.

For the millionth time, the problem isn't the communication (at least not at this point), it's the falsely telling Congress that he didn't have communication.

Jeff Sessions is an honest man. He did not say anything wrong. He could have stated his response more accurately, but it was clearly not intentional. This whole narrative is a way of saving face for Democrats losing an election that everyone thought they were supposed to win.

The Democrats are overplaying their hand. They lost the election and now, they have lost their grip on reality. The real story is all of the illegal leaks of classified and other information. It is a total witch hunt!

It doesn't defeat my point, it proves it. He made a false statement. Again, whether that was intentional or inadvertant is a judgment call, but whether or not his statement to Congress was false. It's not. The question was about contacts by surrogates. He proceeded to frame himself as a surrogate and then flatly stated he had no contacts. That was false. Now maybe he didn't intend to tell an untruth, but he did. Maybe he misspoke. Nobody is perfect. If he would just say that, I think most people would understand.

But anyone is clinging to the notion that his statement was factually true is either stupid or a liar.

Surprisingly enough that's actually close to a rational defense. Of course it should read "He didn't state his response accurately, but it was clearly not intentional."

Of course, 'clearly' is an overstatement itself. And when I see opposing counsel boasting their argument as being "clearly", it's usually a good bet that it's not.
