Tony Carr is for real, I like that kid. He could have extra motivation with more friends and family in the stands for sure. But even if its not a true 'neutral' site, it's not as tough of an atmosphere for the road team because there's no student section. Student section is pretty much everything for most college atmospheres. Not to mention court and rim familiarity.

With that said, I like MSU to win and cover 5. Spread is a basket or two light IMO.

The place is supposed to be extremely loud (when full) because it's pretty much a hs gym with higher seats. Why wouldn't there be a student section? You mean as in psu students? I'd imagine they'll be a shit ton hs/college aged kids there to see the philly guys. Their team won the state title last year, so I'd assume they're popular.

Yeah you're right, Palestra is a unique & historic venue. I guess with PSU pathetic crowds at home this will be much better in Philly. I see that it's been sold out for months already, wow.

I was just thinking of how poor Indiana or Notre Dame can play in Indianapolis. MSU losing at Ford Field. Syracuse at MSG recently. They have the crowd, sure, but they don't have the organized student section which makes most of the noise the whole game. They're not familiar with the rims or the depth perception for shooting free throws or the locker rooms etc.

Just had a flashback and probably haven't had it in 25 years. My friend had an above ground pool before in-ground became a thing when we were kids.
