I don't understand why he flew all of that way with the gun in his baggage and then decided to start shooting people at the airport he arrived at?

Basically every active shooter training says run if you can, hide if you can, but if your close to rush the shooter. If 10 people rush the shooter chances are all 10 live - a couple with injuries but all alive and shooter goes down.

It's sick if pre meditated. I assumed someone pissed him off on his flight and that's what started it.

This sounds like somebody mentally unstable that may have lost his job, maybe a domestic dispute with a spouse that escalated or a copy cat that wants to terrorize the country.


We need to worry more about crazy mofos in the US than ISIS/ISIL. While I don't want to discount ISIS, we have too many people with mental illnesses right in our back yard with access to high powered assault rifles. I don't know the answers but this shit is much too common.

My wife and I were in Rome about 5 years ago walking at a roundabout circular area when shots fired. "Pop, pop, pop, pop, pop". I had to grab her and basically push her down the other street. All the while she's asking "what's wrong, what's going on". She didn't even know there was gunfire. A few minutes later a bunch of police came crashing in. I did not stick around to find out what was up but it was some crazy shooter. My wife didn't even know what gunfire sounded like. She thought it was firecrackers. I hear shots, I'm headed the other direction. Now if someone tried to enter my house, I have too much security equipment and guns to not be able to defend myself. I know immediately when someone comes on my block. I feel pretty good I could put up a good fight.

I don't necessarily think there is a wrong or right answer that applies to every situation and in your situation I wouldn't go looking for the gun fire either. Unless, I was carrying and I thought for a second I could save 1 person's life then I'd start hunting the rooster_eater down. OF course, if I felt outnumbered then I'd run too.


All I know is as described in this airport shooting today, if I was anywhere near this dude when he was reloading or laying on the ground he'd be done or I'd be dead. People just too afraid to die these days, serious pussification going on across the world.

I often think if I was in a situation like this I might charge.. Especially if I can't get a clear out and the shooter is walking down people and shooting them in the head and coming right up on me.. I highly doubt I'd run or cower down and just take the death shot willingly.. I'm not afraid to die.. That's just me though..

First initial move would be to evade if possible and get help though as I don't have a death wish.....

How many people know when a shooter runs out of bullets? Plus you don't know how long it would take for him to reload. Most people are shocked, scared and confused. What do confused people do... nothing. They can't believe what is happening so they freeze up. Even people who are standing right next to him. They should at least run but they are totally stunned.

Buddy it doesn't work that way. I was down in over-the -rhine when 2 dope boys started shooting at each other. I took a guy who was thinking of being our district manager at 150,000 base. He bragged that he wasn't afraid of anything because he was in the bosnian war. These fuckiiin kids started shooting at each other. I grabbed his ass and we got on a stoop so we wouldn't get hit by stray bullets. Dude quit soon as we got back to office. Any body that talks like a tough guy has never been in that situation.

Yeah, I've been held up at gun point and all guns pointed at my head by 4 illegal Mexicans late at night when I was walking home.. NO LIE... I never panicked, just handed them my watch and empty wallet and stood my ground.. Nothing I could do but surrender my goods.. They even searched my pockets..

I was like if they are gonna shoot and kill me so be it.. I was 26 years old at the time and was more pissed off because i had to cancel all my crreditt ccarrds and wait in line at the DMV to get a new drivers license more then anything else.....

I also got tied up in the cross fire between two gang members shooting it out, yes I ducked down and got out of dodge in that situation.. Never afraid though or panicked....
